“Forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace”
There are literally thousands of short one-line mantras and proverbs in the world. They grow on a daily basis in a society where the entirety of a person’s ideology is encapsulated on a bumper sticker. While I normally eschew these in favor of longer words and supposedly deeper thoughts, I made the promise this year to reduce the complexity in my life. I have been looking at various saying as well as the aforementioned mantras and proverbs. This one seemed applicable to today.
