Swallows in the sky,

Nests waiting in mulberry.

Pilgrimage circle.

Road

Silent the morning.

In the darkness before dawn,

Chaparral scents air.

Black pathway stretches onward,

Into the golden morning.

Fallow the earth lays.

In the treetops life springs forth,

Deep roots waken first.

Nine Tales

Cool feast day in hell.

Red suit and tails wedding,

Poison bells ringing.

Winds roar from the west,

Through branch’s rosy blossoms.

Sand gnaws at the skin.

In the distance barks.

Summer Entrance

Thunder shakes the sky.

Raindrop’s staccato rhythm,

Short night fantasia.

Dawn

Earthworm returns home.

Morning calm unstirred by wind,

Dark air hanging warm.

Pathways close behind.

Forward the stream flows slowly,

Bearing me with it.
